“ Punyakarma Foundation “ had heard of some ‘ Zilla Parishad Schools ‘ around Karjat Area in the Raigad District of Maharashtra, where several Children from Economically Backward Classes were studying. We sent our Volunteers to do a ‘ Research ‘ on these Schools and get us their requirements and list of Difficulties they were facing as on date.
We got a list of the different ways that we could be of help to these Children, and so to start connecting we zeroed down on 4 Zilla Parishad Schools around the Karjat Area and decided to start our “ Support Relationship “ with them immediately.
The list of Schools we selected for our Current Activities are :-
1) Raigad Zilla Parishad School , Gundhanwadi, Taluka Karjat, District Raigad. ( Principal : Gavari Sir – 9763998814 )
2) Raigad Zilla Parishad School , Markewadi, Taluka Karjat, District Raigad. ( Principal : Mrs More – 8888660162 )
3) Raigad Zilla Parishad School , Sapele, Taluka Karjat, District Raigad. ( Principal : Mr Prashant Pathare – 9225725999)
4) Raigad Zilla Parishad School , Savele Marathi, Taluka Karjat, District Raigad. ( Principal : Mr Mulla – 9405305313 )
The total number of Children Studying in these Schools totalled upto : 135 Children , All of them belonging to Poor Rural and Economically Backward Classes. The Break Up of School wise count of the Children are : -
1) Sapele Raigad Zilla Parishad School - 12 Childrens
2) Savele Raigad Zilla Parishad School - 16 Childrens
3) Markewadi Raigad Zilla Parishad School – 57 Childrens
4) Gundhanwadi Raigad Zilla Parishad School – 50 Childrens
On 6 th July, 2018 there was a Heavy Down Pour of Rains in Karjat, but that did not deter our spirits and our Director Mr. Vishal Kandhari along with his wife Mrs. Rishina Kandhari and his Daughter Ms. Tiarah Kandhari and our Motivated team Members reached Raigad and distributed Excellent Quality “ School Bags “ and “ School Kits “ containing of Note Books, Drawing Books, Graph Books, Compass Boxes, Pens, Pencils, Tiffin Boxes etc to the 135 Children spread over the 4 above Schools.
The Smile and Happiness on the Faces of the Children were enough to wipe off our tiredness of the Day.
We, Punyakarma Foundation Plan to further take up causes in these Rural Areas of ‘ Raigad ‘ and help the Schools and Children in Areas of Education Sports and Vocational Courses for the Unemployed Youth.

“ Punyakarma Foundation “ received a request from ‘ A Zilla Parishad School ‘ in Kadav Village in the remote Areas of Karjat , District Raigad , to Sponsor a “ Diwali Lantern Workshop “ with their 126 Students belonging to “ Economically Poor Backward Classes “ .
We decided to take up the cause, on 27.10.2018 at 10am Sharp , Our Team of Volunteers along with our Director Mr.Vishal Kandhari reached the Zilla Parishad School at Kadav and Organised a “ Brilliant Diwali Lantern / Kandil Making Workshop “ . The Students thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it as they learned How to make Professional Looking Kandil with their Own Hands . We also motivated them to try making some Kandils and Selling them to their ‘ Neighbours ‘ and in the ‘ Local Village Markets ‘ on the Occasion of Diwali .
After the Workshop was over , we Pleasantly Surprised the 126 Deserving Children by Gifting them Diwali Goodies Like “ Farals “ which consist of Traditional Homemade Diwali Sweets like :- Chakalis , Karanjis , Sakarpalis , Chivda , etc . The Children were Thrilled beyond imagination . Thus , leaving Our Team of Volunteers with a ‘ Huge Satisfaction ‘ in our Hearts of having made this Diwali a ‘ Special One ‘ for these 126 Deserving Children .
As a token of thanks the Kadav , Zilla Parishad School handed over a “ Thanks Giving Letter of Appreciation “ for our efforts .
